This CIBTAC Diploma in Reflexology qualification is designed to ensure you have all the necessary skills to work professionally in the International Spa Environment as a Reflexologist.

The Level 3 Diploma in Reflexology is a substantial internationally recognised vocational qualification that will prepare you for a career as a Reflexologist, or add to your current profile of skills. Throughout this qualification you will develop a range of technical skills enabling you to provide relaxing reflexology treatments using specific movements to treat the feet. You will also develop interpersonal skills that will assist you to communicate effectively with your clients. Successful completion of this module within the Diploma of reflexology will enable you, learner to register with the Complementary and Natural Health Council – CNHC.
This course includes business practices covering business law, employment, marketing, public relations and communications skills in the complementary sector. Another aspect of the course is principles and practices of complementary therapy. The aim of this module will introduce you to the historical factors and theoretical background for complementary therapies. It will provide knowledge of the main legislative influences of working within the industry as well as assist in developing knowledge of the key aspects of good clinical practice.
In this course you will study a variety of modules covering:
- Health and Safety including Spa Environment and professional image
- Consultation including previous medical history
- Contra-indications that prevent or restrict treatment (requiring medical permission)
- Related anatomy and physiology
- Principles and Practices of Complementary Therapy
- Business practices for Complementary therapies
- Preparation for treatment
- Performance of treatment routine and processes including various techniques and knowledge of reflexology movements
- How to conclude with aftercare, home-care advice and retail advice
Hours of Study
The Modules can be accessed in your own time frame, and can be revisited as often as you require ensuring your learning is embedded. To meet the CIBTAC requirement the minimum hours of study must be 202 hours, excluding A&P hours of study.
The believe online virtual education system will assess you in each aspect of your learning by using a quiz that will be graded immediately.
There is a requirement for you to complete a portfolio of the following assignments:
- Complementary assignment one
- Complementary assignment two
- Complementary assignment six
After the pre-requisite of Anatomy and Physiology has been completed and passed with a 60% pass grade, dates will be convened for your practical training in Reflexology. Once this training has been completed you will have time to complete the case studies and treatments to practise at work/home. When ready you will return to complete the examination.
The examination is by an independent CIBTAC examiner, who will spend 15 minutes before each exam with specific instructions followed by a 1 hour 30 minute multiple choice written paper, including health and safety, anatomy and treatment knowledge and a separate 1 hour 15 minute practical exam.
The reflexology practical will be taught after the anatomy and physiology written exam. You will then produce a portfolio of evidence including case studies of 10 clients treated 4 times and a reflective practice diary for another additional 60 treatments.
The portfolio must be available for the Examiner.
